Some notes from my MythTV installations:

In CentOS 5, don't upgrade the kernel without enabling the centos-plus repo, or DVB won't be enabled.

In CentOS 5, don't install the ivtv-kmdl if you are using dvb and ivtv, use video4linx-ivtv-kmdl instead, otherwise mythtv will hang
